Vertical drives are first choice in tall buildings:

  • The travel fast,
  • several elevator cars in one duct are no problem,
  • because there are no cables, ducts can be segmented by firewalls at any position required,
  • they are fail-safe,
  • they can move heavy loads,
  • there are simply no oscillating cables.

All the advantages mentioned above also work for deep ducts or railway stations in tunnels far below surface.

To link ground traffic with the railway tunnel ‚Porta Alpina‘, that will most likely be built approx. in the middle of the new Gotthard tunnel in Switzerland, we at InTraSys have developed an innovative concept, based on horizontal and vertical drives.
